Indiana Online Education General FAQ

GEO Focus Academy of Indiana was created in partnership with the Greater Education Opportunities Foundation, a non-profit organization dedicated to providing families access to high-quality education options, and K12, a leader in online education.

GEO Focus Academy of Indiana enrolls full-time students in grades K–12. For kindergarten, students must be 5 years old prior to August 1 in the current application year. Juniors and seniors must be on track to graduate on time.

Because GEO Focus Academy of Indiana provides the lesson plans and materials needed for grades K–12, many parents find it easy to enroll multiple children in the program.

GEO Focus Academy of Indiana is a private school. We provide Indiana-licensed teachers and instructional materials. Students and families will be responsible for providing some consumable materials (such as printer ink and paper). Our enrollment consultants can help address your technological and computer questions and needs.

Yes, Indiana and GEO Focus Academy are committed to providing all children access to quality educational opportunities. Indiana’s Choice Scholarship Program (voucher program) provides scholarships to eligible Indiana students to offset tuition costs at participating schools, including GEO Focus Academy. Learn more about the Indiana Choice Scholarship Program and the scholarship granting organization.

Our staff works with parents to submit scholarship applications to the Indiana Department of Education. Connect with an enrollment consultant for guidance.

Students spend time with classmates online and through school outings, field trips, and other activities. In addition to school-based activities like art club, K12 online national clubs help connect students with like interests and passions.

GEO Focus Academy of Indiana uses the general education curriculum for all students, but will meet the needs of students with disabilities by providing accommodations and other related services based on the student’s Individualized Education Plan/Choice Special Education Plan.

All students enrolled for the entire school year must attend 180 instructional days per school year. The total instructional days are prorated based on the student’s start date. The daily amount of expected instructional time are: 5 hours for K–5th grade, and 6 hours for 6–12th grade.
